Ed Theakston

Ed is training as an actor and theatre-maker at East 15 Acting School under Uri Roodner on the well-respected Acting & Contemporary Theatre course, and has worked professionally in both theatre and film.

Ed recently co-founded KILTER theatre, with Katie Coull. This summer, Ed and Katie are co-directing Nicole Zweiback's one-woman dark comedy, 'Bit of Sunshine', about a girl growing up with mental illness and the lifelong struggle of addiction. This production is a collaboration between KILTER and Bloody Deeds Productions. It will be performed at theSpace on the Mile (Venue 39) from 22nd - 27th August. Tickets are available now.

Ed most recently played Alan Strang in Peter Shaffer's 'Equus' (dir. Matthew C. Logan, Frenetic Theater USA), which received tremendous reviews and sold out houses, as well as very gratifying audience responses. Upcoming independent British feature film 'The Renata Road' (dir. Ed Greenberg, Beyond the Bar) is in post-production; Ed will be appearing as Nathan, one of the film's lead roles, alongside CJ de Mooi.

As well as being an actor, Ed works as Executive Director for production company Parallel Productions and is a playwright. He was a member of the Soho Theatre Young Company Writers' Lab 2013. He also works freelance as a writer, graphic designer and lighting designer for theatre and cabaret.
