Alex Welsh


Alex in the coming year will be a finalist at Warwick University reading English Literature and Theatre Studies. He was a member of Bullfrog Productions Youth Theatre in Kent from 2009-2012 playing lead roles in their Musical Theatre productions, directed in the majority by TV and Theatre actress Cheryl Baker. While performing regularly as a teenager in pantomimes both amateur and professional annually, he studied dance and taught in two local dance schools and now is qualified as a Student Teacher (IDTA) in Freestyle, while reaching Gold Bar 1 in Modern and Gold in Tap and Ballet (IDTA). At University he has been involved with various organisations and theatre collectives performing in plays, musicals and on film. Musical Theatre credits include: for Music Theatre Warwick, RENT (2014) which was selected for the National Student Drama Festival 2014, Sweeney Todd (2014) and Thoroughly Modern Millie (2012). Alex made his Off-West End debut in the development cast for American playwright Carey Crim’s new work, Conviction (formerly known as 23.5 Hours) for Dead Posh Productions and Rubicon Theatre (2013), other theatre credits include: for Warwick University Drama Society, The Hairy Ape (2014) Vinegar Tom (2013), Taming of the Shrew (2013), Look Back in Anger (2012) and for Freshblood Theatre, The Bistro (2014).

Alex will be appearing in The Human Animal's promenade vision of Wastwater by Simon Stephens in Edinburgh this Summer playing in C nova from 30st July-16th August at 18:25 daily.
