SUMMARY

Award-winning comedian Rob Carter's cult-hit character creation, Christopher Bliss, is to premiere his most exciting and eagerly anticipated project yet… a three-hander theatrical extravaganza.

This year Christopher, the worst novelist in Shropshire, has written, directed, and cast himself in his first ever play, alongside both of his friends (played by Joanna Griffin and Ryan Lane). Experience the truly unique imaginings of the world through the eyes of Bliss.

The story follows a young man who has to do the unthinkable and travel to Telford (the largest city in Shropshire) to rescue his wife. Having never been to the theatre before, Christopher’s bold attempt at a new art form proves that nothing is impossible, and that a little faith goes a long way!

Rob Carter has successfully created an innovative, innocent and naive character in Christopher Bliss. Truly captivating and affable, Rob has total grasp of the character and in doing so invites the audience along on a playful journey that is an incredibly special experience which will leave you utterly in love with Christopher Bliss.

Award-winning comic actor, Rob Carter has loving created the character of Christopher Bliss. Hailing from the prestigious Cambridge Footlights, Rob has gone on to win the Musical Comedy Awards (2012) and became a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Awards in 2013. As an actor, Rob has appeared in shows such as Fresh Meat (Channel 4), Mitchell and Webb’s Peep Show, and Siblings (BBC) as well as starring in the critically-acclaimed Ricky Whittington (Fight In The Dog).

Rob Carter’s 2017 Edinburgh show – Christopher Bliss: Writings Wrong – was heralded as one of last year’s Fringe treasures and now he’s back to prove that there’s more to this prodigy novelist than meets the eye.
