SUMMARY

Brand-new sketch duo EGG present their cracking debut hour show Richard Pictures at the Edinburgh Fringe this year.

Comprised of actor comedians Anna Leong Brophy and Emily Lloyd-Saini, two incredibly exciting off-white women ready to ask all the big questions that have nothing to do with fertility.

Richard Pictures is a character led sketch show packed with high energy silliness and unexpected twists. Themes such as toxic masculinity and female friendship are at the forefront of this impressive debut hour.

Tackling the thorny issues of why men and women are the way they are, EGG will teach you what to do when an unsolicited Richard Picture slides into your DMs, or how to get your voice heard in a boardroom full of testosterone. Anna has an important message to get across and Emily wants to keep things fun and light-hearted – the beauty in Richard Pictures is that it achieves both. It brings the personal into the political in an off-beat, razor-sharp and relatable way. One of the freshest sketch shows to enter the scene in years, Egg are not to be missed.

As seen on BBC and Channel 4 and heard on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Asian Network, Anna and Emily are both members of award-winning improvised comedy troupe BattleActs, with whom they are under commission to record a BBC Radio 1 podcast series this summer. Their first short show received 4-star reviews at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe and received a Funny Women Best Show nomination.

Emily Lloyd-Saini is an actor, stand-up comedian and improviser, Emily has recently starred in Channel 4’s Flowers and BACK, BBC’s W1A and ITV’s Doctor Foster. Emily hosts the BBC Asian Network radio show ‘The Mawaan and Emily Show’ with Mawaan Rizwan and in 2017 was nominated for both an ARIA and 'Best Show' in the Asian Media Awards. Emily was listed on the BBC New Talent Hotlist 2017 for Comedy.

Anna Leong Brophy is an actor and improviser, most recently starring in Sparebnb for Two Larks Films and Jungle Tribes, a biopic about Swiss jungle dweller Bruno Manser, out in 2019. She founded cult favourite improv show BattleActs! in 2009. Anna is a seasoned theatre performer having appeared at theatres around the country including Shakespeare’s Globe, Chichester Festival Theatre, The Roundhouse and Soho Theatre.
