Best Newcomer nominee 2017, Chris Washington debuts his brand-new eagerly awaited second solo show ‘You Beauty!’ At the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year.

A feel-good underdog story about this Wigan ex postman who got five numbers and the bonus ball on the comedy lottery and had his life completely transformed.

‘You Beauty!’ focuses on Chris’s journey from receiving the prestigious 10 years’ service tie pin from Royal Mail and the series of 'You Beauty!' moments that followed. This is an inspiring positive show about your expectations in life and finding content in your own achievements.

Chris makes tender hearted, relatable, positive comedy. There’s a real warmth to his shows and a genuine connection to the audience with grounded confidence. Almost as if you are listening to your funniest best mate down the pub, you won’t see a performer quite like him.

Chris has proved he’s a definite one to watch within the industry, being likened to a “Peter Kay for the smart phone generation”. As a live circuit favourite he’s already supported the likes of Jason Manford and Tom Stade on tour and recently co-hosted Jason Manford’s weekend radio show for Absolute Radio. This year Chris transferred to London’s Soho Theatre, followed by two sell-out shows at the Salford Lowry studio, another sell-out at Leicester Comedy Festival and invitations to perform at Latitude, Festival 41, Kendal Calling and Festival No. 6.

Alongside stand-up Chris has also written and starred in two online sketches for BBC Three’s ‘Quickies’ series, both earning over 1 million views and becoming two of their most successful of the series. He also has another exciting scripted sitcom in development for TV (optioned with Phil McIntyre Television and Yellow Door productions) and has made the step over to the small screen, headlining his own episode on the upcoming series of ‘Live From the BBC.’
