SUMMARY

Ozymandias is a comic, one-man, absurdist piece, during which the audience meets and interacts with an interpretation of the titular character of Percy Shelley’s poem ‘Ozymandias’. The play was first staged at the 2015 Durham Drama Festival where it won the award for ‘Best Play’ and was then selected to be performed at the North East Drama Festival in Newcastle in May 2015.

Ramesses the Great (Ozymandias to his friends), invites all passing travellers to an unsurpassable evening of wit, charm, profundity, music, storytelling and career advice. Prepare to be transported to a surreal world of rudimentary biology lessons, Egyptian trivia, existential angst, 12A levels of nudity and The Bangles. The privilege of the company of the King of Kings is quite unlike any other; all should prepare to be humbled before him.
