SUMMARY

She has been away for years, but Dee is now back in Carrickmore, picking up her Jesus-loving, orchid-growing mother from the police station.

Over three days, with the help of plenty of whiskey and tea, the two host a cadre of characters from the neighbourhood, including the well-meaning Reverend Northridge; the new lesbian neighbour, Liz; and the clueless village gossip, Violet, all determined to discover the reason for Mary's brush with the law.

After years apart, the mother-daughter must rediscover everything they ever loved, and hated, about each other.

This is the second offering from new company, Plain Heroines whose work presents realistic, contemporary women. Kate Reid's 'whip-smart, funny and unmissable' (The Tab) play forces you to consider who you choose to love and why. Following a successful run in Cambridge, Three Days' Time, 'some of the strongest student writing I've ever had the pleasure of seeing' (TCS), comes to the Fringe to introduce Carrickmore to the people of Edinburgh.

Admission: £7.50(£6.50) – £10.50(£8.50)
