Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Society & Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society

SUMMARY

Cambridge University’s finest actors, singers and musicians are bringing Sondheim to Edinburgh at his darkest and most humorous. Brought to life in the eerie shadows of a carnival, this musical will move, shock, amuse and terrify.

“Assassins” spans over several decades and dissects the minds and motives of the USA’s most famous killers. But this isn’t just a history lesson set to music. The production raises provocative questions that are still pressing today. Should we have the right to own and carry a weapon? Does revenge equal justice? Is celebrity more aggressive and dangerous than we’d like to admit? Is power the most harmful currency in our society?
