SUMMARY

When thirteen-year-old Midge's parents are killed in a freak car accident, he is sent to live with his estranged Uncle Clive, an alarmingly eccentric inventor determined one day to emigrate to the moon. Eventually the lad settles into life with his uncle, and even falls in love with a girl, whom he finds crawling out of a muddy hole in the garden. But Uncle Clive harbours a dark and fiendish secret...

This exciting story is bursting with song: in addition to playing all the parts, Tom Ovens and Frank Paul sing and accompany themselves on guitar and balalaika respectively. The show is an exceedingly unusual mixture of dark, absurd comedy, original music and rollicking old-fashioned storytelling. It isn't necessarily suitable for tiny children; hopefully, however, there is something for everybody over the age of 12-ish, as long as they have a sense of humour and don't have any irrational objections to three-stringed Russian folk instruments (which is what a balalaika is).
