Don't Let Go

Sat 2nd – Sun 24th Aug 2014

“The story of a man and his unlikely friendship with a red balloon.”

Manic Chord Theatre

Manic Chord Theatre return to Edinburgh with 'Don’t Let Go', an inventive tale of rediscovery, rekindled youth and a red balloon. Incorporating inspiring visuals, puppetry and newly composed music 'Don’t Let Go' tells a visually beautiful story, exploring what it means to be an adult and to play.

Loosely inspired by the 1956 French film 'Le Ballon Rouge', the show tells the story of Leonard, a man whose life is the very depiction of ordinary until he comes across a red balloon. Through scenic inventiveness, physicality and a lyrical script, Manic Chord Theatre submerges the audience into the world of Leonard's boundless imagination.

Following the five-star success of After What Comes Before at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Manic Chord Theatre will perform their second full length show at Bedlam Theatre. Through highlighting the importance of play in our lives, this show celebrates the joyfulness which lies deep within us all.

With a donation of 50p from each ticket sold, Manic Chord Theatre will be supporting the British Heart Foundation at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2014, using their show, 'Don't Let Go' to highlight the importance of maintaining a young and healthy heart.
