Raw Perception Productions

Raw Perception Productions is emerging from the highly acclaimed Acting and Contemporary theatre course at East 15 Acting School and brings you ‘Thugz n Tearz’: a new play by British-Asian writer Wahab Sheikh. Inspired by true events, the play offers an insight into the lives of young adult gang members on the streets of East London. Guns, Drugs, Violence… Is there a way out?

Last year Bear Trap Theatre Company came forth from the same course at East 15 Acting School with ‘Bound’ winning multiple awards including a Fringe First and The Herald Angel Award.

‘Thugz N Tearz’ is a theatrical insight into a well-established, East London, Drug Empire.

Shit gets out’a control… Loved one’s dyin’ as a result of your actions… They say once you enter the game, there ain’t no turning back…

Who’s really in charge of the streets? How long can the girls survive if ‘the hit’ fails? Could a brethren’s advice change Kaiza’s perspective on life? And will street-reputation drag those who seek ‘out’ back into a world of brutality?

Kaiza’s gainin’ street-cred daily. Blacker initiates a hit on him, which ultimately fails. Elisha wants ‘out’, Siobhan wants power, Blacker’s workers set him up, and the drug and gun empire crumbles before them.

“You Live, you Fuck, you Eat, you get Shot… If you’re lucky you don’t die”

Inspired by true events, Young British-Asian writer Wahab Sheikh offers a view into the dangerous world of Money, Power and Respect.
