“a lamp-lit flat-pack universe with more characters than you can throw a meatball at”

Wardrobe Ensemble

The Wardrobe Ensemble present…

An ëpic tale of violence, greed and chëap søfas.

“The ensemble's energy is something really special. The multi-skilled performers are bringing together a really seductive piece of physical, musical theatre…”

(Emma Stenning, Executive Director, Bristol Old Vic Theatre)

With frenetic, eclectic force the Wardrobe Ensemble build a lamp-lit flat-pack universe with more characters than you can throw a meatball at. They tear up the instructions and disregard the diagrams to construct a comedic tragedy of a thoroughly modern kind

‘A performance packed with many moments of delight, surprise and humorous ingenuity…I’d recommend getting tickets while stocks last.’ (A Younger Theatre)

‘I saw a woman screaming slightly louder than the rest. She lifted her child into the air, trying to pass it to a group of yellow crusaders. It was like Vietnam without the napalm.' 10th February 2005. At the stroke of midnight the British public punch, kick, strangle and eventually stab their way to £45 sofas and £35 bed frames at the opening of their favourite Swedish furniture store.

RIOT was performed at the Bristol Old Vic in June 2011 to great critical acclaim.

“Laugh-out-loud mayhem” (9/10 Bristol Evening Post)
