Sun 14th – Mon 29th Aug 2011

“stellar mix of black-tie class, charm, wit and impeccable musicality”

The Oxford Gargoyles

‘delectably light-voiced, well blended... Charm personified’

The Times, January 2011

The Oxford Gargoyles, one of the UK’s leading jazz a cappella ensembles comprised of Oxford University undergraduates, return to C Venues for their annual feast of quality jazz a cappella from 14-29 August at 2.15pm. Their stellar mix of black-tie class, charm, wit and impeccable musicality led them to receive a flurry of 5* reviews for their highly successful 2010 show. 2010 also saw the group win the prestigious Voice Festival UK, the UK’s largest a cappella competition. For their exciting Fringe run, the Gargoyles aim to dazzle you with their array of quality standards, toe-tapping swing, grooving funk as well as much much more. In the past two years The Oxford Gargoyles have performed with world-class ensembles such as The Swingle Singers and The Real Group, who they were asked to open for, and launch the London a Cappella Festival in 2011. As usual, this years’ show includes world premiere arrangements by Musical Director Alex Kaiserman, fresh from winning both last and this years’ prize for Outstanding Arrangement at Voice Festival UK.

“their show was breathtaking...the audience loved every minute of them”
