SUMMARY

This is more than a show; it's an invitation, a one

woman show that combines interactive storytelling,

puppetry and audio-visuals resulting in a light-hearted

piece about life, love and people

This girl’s story takes her far from home to a foreign culture and

discovers, amidst all the clichés that surround the dance, the gaze

of tango. In the very first real dance of her life she sees how the

infinite possibilities of a relationship can be encapsulated in 3

minutes.

During telling of this story, the actress transforms the stage into an

intimate space where the audience is invited to do the exact

opposite of speed dating and employ a revealing examination of

the individual. Through this process, the audience experience the

difficulties and rewards of the dance without taking a step.

The actress and playwright, Anna Cetti, has lived in Italy, England

and France. After extensive training with circus companies she

founded Teatro del Parpadeo in Mexico City which today is

involved in collaborations around the globe.

She has created this persona-based comedy through her own

experience of traveling the world and discovery of a range of

diverse cultures. From the most profound aspects of dance to the

most frivolous, An Imaginary History of Tango is a

performance where both intensity and lightheartedness are of

equal importance.

Admission: £7.50(£6.50) – £9.50(£8.50)
