“I bid my hideous progeny go forth and prosper”

ExADUS Theatre Company

Exadus Theatre Company presents Mary Shelly's ‘Frankenstein’ as a new adaptation of the novel which views the gothic tale as a fictional autobiography. The play attempts to show the number of connections between the horror-story of Mary's own life were the sparks that ignited the thoughts of a young girl to think of and 'dilate upon such a hideous idea'. Her unification with the creature is the lightning rod for her creativity defending her privileges as a female author in a patriarchal society. This production of ‘Frankenstein’ tells Mary's ghost story as it was meant to be told, by torch light.

"speak to the mysterious fears of our nature and awake thrilling horror ...... dread to look round, to curdle the blood, and quicken the beatings of the heart."

ExADUS Theatre Company

Ex members who met through the drama department at Ashby School have linked with Drama and University students to continue their performance experiences at the Edinburgh Fringe as theatre company ‘ExADUS’. Some of these student have now become professional stage and film actors but still continue to work within the company. Our reviews are 4 stars and always comment on our slick ensemble style.

This is our fifth show over the past 10 years, previous productions include: HAIR (2004), THE HIRED MAN (2006) and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (2007) FAHRENHEIT 451 (2009).

Previous show 'Fahrenheit 451' (2009)

There’s a good sense of purpose and dynamism throughout, from a company very accomplished at group work. The performances are excellent...Fringe review (2009)
