“I like it. That you can’t tell what’s going on in that photo. It means we keep it just for us.”

Every year the Edinburgh University Theatre Company showcases its most powerful voices and dynamic talent in its own Fringe venue and is proud to present Remember This, at the 2011 Fringe. A comedy drama with mass appeal, Remember This is a witty and contemporary piece of new writing with an honest approach to love and loss at its core.

Memories can escape us, in time. Who knows what really happened, and what has been imagined to fill in those gaps? Nick and Helen are on a quest to reclaim the truth. Armed with nothing but a slide projector and a set of old photographs, they track the last ten years of their relationship, creating a funny and honest account of how they got to where they are today.

Remember This distinguishes itself with its unique approach to storytelling using not only live sensory prompts to tickle the audience's responses, like a spritz of perfume or a snippet of an old song woven seamlessly into the action, but with a jumbled array of projected photos, telling the story in an almost backwards order.

Co-writer Lizzie Bourne won the Spotlight Best Actress Award for her role in the EUTC's production of Amadeus at NSDF 2011. As a writer, her debut piece, Only One Wing, won the NSDF Ensemble Award at the Fringe in 2010. Co-writer Florence Vincent is currently a writer for the Webby Award-winning series Eastenders: E20 and has garnered Best Director and Best Ensemble Awards at the Durham Drama Festival in 2009.

‘Bourne does an admirable job of turning a desperately sad situation into something magical and uplifting...’ - The Scotsman (Praise for Only One Wing, Fringe 2010).
